How-to: Sending messages from Churchillians.net with GMail and GoogleMail

By configuring your mail client to send messages from your churchillians.net address, your recipients' software will address replies to your churchillians.net address (rather than to your 'real' address). This is important because they will add your churchillians.net address to their address books and will always use that address to reach you. They will have to do nothing, and probably will not even notice, if/when you change your 'real' address in future years!

  1. Log in to your gmail account
  2. Click the settings link
  3. Select the 'accounts' link and click 'add another email address' (see image)
  4. Enter your screen name and Churchillians.net address as prompted.
  5. Click the 'send verification' button; an email will be sent to your Churchillians.net address and will be forwarded to the address specified when you configured Churchillians.net (this might be to your Google account itself).
  6. Click the link in that email when you receive it (see image).
  7. You will now be able to send and receive emails from both your Churchillians.net and GMail accounts by selecting the relevant address in the drop down list in the 'From' field of your new messages.
