How-to: Sending messages from Churchillians.net with Mozilla Thunderbird

By configuring your mail client to send messages from your churchillians.net address, your recipients' software will address replies to your churchillians.net address (rather than to your 'real' address). This is important because they will add your churchillians.net address to their address books and will always use that address to reach you. They will have to do nothing, and probably will not even notice, if/when you change your 'real' address in future years!

The simplest way to send a message from your Churchillians.net address is to set the 'Reply To:' field when you compose a new message:

  1. Open a new message by clicking the 'Write' icon
  2. Enter your intended recipients of the message into the 'To' field
  3. On the next line change the 'To' field to 'Reply To' and enter your Churchillians.net address
  4. Complete and send your message
  5. Recipients will reply using your Churchillians.net address if they press the reply button when viewing messages
